Stormy Weather Cover

Stormy Weather - 1998 - (CS_017CD by special request only)

"...Kicking off with the traditional tunes 'Jolly Jack Tar' and 'Blackleg Miner', the production is far from traditional... The mix of technology and real instrumentation works well throughout the album..." - Sound On Sound - Jul 99 (The full review can be found on the SOS website ).

This limited edition CD is available from the band by request only and consists of a series of tunes and songs recorded in Orpheus Studio between 1995 and 1998. We enjoyed the process of making "Out Of The Rut" so much that we just carried on. The studio provides a completely different challenge to playing live and allows us to try things out which wouldn't work during a dance. Stormy Weather features singing by Alison and Dave Fenner plus contributions from Richard Holland (keyboards - Woodbine Cottage) and Sheila March (backing vocals Down Eastur).

Jolly Jack Tar / Black Leg Miner (Trad arr); Merry Mary / Path Of White Flowers (Trad arr; Morrey); Cursed Anna (Miller); Olwen's Third / For Olwen (Morrey); Reynardine (Trad arr); Floydian Slip / Woodbine Cottage (Morrey; Fenner); Down Eastur (Joel); Ailith's Birthday / The Old Battle / Clachaig Cottage (Morrey; Trad arr; Morrey); Calartha Farm / Pendeen Watch (Morrey; Morrey); Lament For Wendy (Morrey); Gathering Rushes (Morrey); Drops of Brandy / Peacock Followed The Hen (Trad arr); Islands Of Steel (Fenner); Stormy Weather (Morrey).
