About the Band
If any pigeon hole is going to fit our style of music, English Ceilidh is probably the best. Our dance tunes come mostly from the British Isles and our style which has occasional bursts of jazz, blues and rock has an emphasis on energy and danceability. As can be seen from our discography , our recorded repetoire is more diverse. With the recent arrival of Andy Cheyne, it will be interesting to see how our style changes. But the change from concertina as the second melody instrument to violin will certainly add something new to our sound.
